The Role of the Aboriginal Ministry of Justice

The Republic governs. The Ministry administers. Both are needed for a nation to function.

Short answer

The Aboriginal Ministry of Justice (AMJ) is the official administrative authority of the Xi-Amaru Republic. It was established alongside the Republic on December 17, 2022, in Houston, Texas, as the operational body through which the Republic’s governance is exercised. It administers citizenship, national records, credentials, legal and jurisdictional matters, and public services.

Key term
Administrative authority

The authority to implement and administer the administrative functions of a nation, exercised under the jurisdiction of its governing authority.

The Ministry is not the Republic

The Republic is the nation: its people, its law, its Constitution and its governing authority. The Aboriginal Ministry of Justice is the ministry that carries out its administration. AMJ operates within and under the jurisdiction of the Xi-Amaru Republic, and its services, records and publications carry the Republic’s administrative authority. The Republic governs; the Ministry administers.

Leadership

Chief Nnakina Xi-Amaru Fears is the Founding Mother and Chief of the Xi-Amaru Republic and the administrative head of the Aboriginal Ministry of Justice.

What the Ministry does

  • administers citizenship procedures and national status determinations, including Tribal Screening and ARK eligibility reviews
  • issues and maintains official national records and credentials
  • oversees legal affairs and jurisdictional matters
  • manages public services in citizenship, tax, business, legal matters and education
  • develops government departments and capacity
  • maintains official publications, notices and communications

A nation in its foundational stage

The Republic is in its foundational, transitional phase. Administrative and jurisdictional systems are still being built, and the Ministry’s role is building, not caretaking. People are what make the system run: the citizens who register, use its procedures and hold its offices.

The right to institutions
“Indigenous peoples have the right to promote, develop and maintain their institutional structures and their distinctive customs, spirituality, traditions, procedures, practices and, in the cases where they exist, juridical systems or customs, in accordance with international human rights standards.”
“Indigenous peoples have the right to maintain and strengthen their distinct political, legal, economic, social and cultural institutions, while retaining their right to participate fully, if they so choose, in the political, economic, social and cultural life of the State.”
