Who Are the Amaru People? The Xi-Amaru People Explained

A common search phrase, explained: the people of the Xi-Amaru Republic, Indigenous to the Americas and restoring their national identity.

Short answer

“Amaru people” is a phrase people often search for when learning about the Xi-Amaru Republic. It is not a racial category. It refers to the people of the Xi-Amaru Republic: Indigenous to the Americas, recognized as Xi-Amaru Native Americans, and restoring the national identity that record systems misclassified.

A national identity, not a racial label

The nation does not use “Amaru people” as a racial or tribal grouping. Correctly used, the name refers to the citizens and descendants lawfully connected to the Xi-Amaru Republic and its Indigenous lineage in the Americas. The Republic’s citizens are called Xi-Amaru Native Americans. See Who Are Xi-Amaru Native Americans?.

Who the Xi-Amaru people are

  • Indigenous to the Americas
  • Recognized as Xi-Amaru Native Americans upon citizenship
  • Historically misclassified in Western record systems
  • Restoring their national identity through the Republic’s own institutions and records

The Republic also welcomes Christian individuals and families through the ARK, the Assembly for the Remnant of the Kingdom, which does not require Indigenous lineage. See What Is the ARK?.

Rebuilding from denationalization

Colonization disrupted how Indigenous governance was administered; it did not end the people or their identity. The Xi-Amaru people are rebuilding the institutions, records and procedures that were interrupted, under a government established on December 17, 2022. See Indigenous Misclassification.

Self-identification and membership
“Self-identification as indigenous peoples will be a fundamental criterion for determining to whom this Declaration applies.”
“Indigenous peoples have the right to determine their own identity or membership in accordance with their customs and traditions. This does not impair the right of indigenous individuals to obtain citizenship of the States in which they live.”
